    Protein tube

Thinking about getting some 4inch PVC with an elbow on the end, then attach it to a tree to fred protien. Anyone think it will work? And if so how high should I put it

It will work, but you wont be able to keep it full.

    40-42" to the spout.

From an attractant or nutritional standpoint?

What you are wanting to do would be fine for putting a different smell and taste out while you are there.

From a nutritional standpoint unless you are there to keep feed in it you really wont be making any noticeable difference.

              Attractant

I have to walk the stuff a miles to this stand. Just set up the feeder down at the stand to start feeding year round. Figured once a month when I fill the feeder I could also fill up the tube. Just want to give them more options then corn

Google it and find various ideas to do it that way. I have seen some pretty good tubes made for that. Make sure you fix it where it doesn't catch and hold moisture. various ways to keeo the critters out. I prefer to hang them rather than strapping to a tree.
I used to make and sell them made from old mortar tubes.

It wont mess up the corn feeder? Get jammed, water damage etc?

                          Yes, dont do it.

It works for some people, but it is a mess and waste of money when it doesnt work.

We put ours basically on the ground. Word of advice. Make the tube long. We made ours to short. They are only about 3ft long. Next one I make will be atleast 5ft long. It will hold twice as much. I also like the hanging idea of BayouBoy. Drill holes in the cap you put in the bottom to let the rain run through.
