Question about the Cowtown shoots, me an a hunting partner are wanting to get a qualifier in in the event we are drawn for a NWR hunt. All we need is the qualifier, scorecard, signed, not going to sumbit it for points, etc. Wanting to shoot Bow Novice/Hunter.
My partners bow doesn't follow the ASA rules. He uses a single pin adjustable sight- but never adjusts it, and he is probably over the speed limit (280). Still okay for him to shoot Novice?

I would suggest getting qualified at a club shoot, like the one next week at cowtown. It will be less expensive than an ASA qualifier, and more laid back. You just have to have a club official or IBEP rep sign your card to send in for the NWR hunt. And there are plenty of those around during the club shoots.
And the classes really have no bearing for the NWR.
