Any 3D shoots around DFW coming up?

    Any ideas?

The ASA State Qualifier is coming to the Archery Club of Young County (Graham) on June 8th & 9th. It's a heck of a course to shoot too! Hope that helps & hope to see you there!

I think Mesquite Archery Club has a shoot Sunday. Not 100% on this. Would have to check the website.

Looks like Cowtown has one on the 9th.

Question about the Cowtown shoots, me an a hunting partner are wanting to get a qualifier in in the event we are drawn for a NWR hunt. All we need is the qualifier, scorecard, signed, not going to sumbit it for points, etc. Wanting to shoot Bow Novice/Hunter.

My partners bow doesn't follow the ASA rules. He uses a single pin adjustable sight- but never adjusts it, and he is probably over the speed limit (280). Still okay for him to shoot Novice?

Maybe a dumb question, but if the score doesn't matter why not shoot open? Seems like that would take the equipment concerns out of the equation, unless that messes up the NWR thing to shoot open.

I would suggest getting qualified at a club shoot, like the one next week at cowtown. It will be less expensive than an ASA qualifier, and more laid back. You just have to have a club official or IBEP rep sign your card to send in for the NWR hunt. And there are plenty of those around during the club shoots.

And the classes really have no bearing for the NWR.

The NWR only requires a 30yd max, and the guy only will shoot a 20-30 max shot. Just wondering if anone would pinch a nerve if he didn't comply with the ASA rules for Novice based on type of sight and arrow speed.

Come to a Cowtown club shoot , shoot the Blue stake, meet the required 8 avg on 15 shots and a club rep will sign your card. Just let them know what your doing. Pay for a FUN round and you or him can shoot from any stake. No one can say anything or get mad about that.

You can go to On Target Archery in canton any saturday for a 3-d shoot. Call ahead to make sure someone will be available to score you. They do qualifiers every year.

Going to shoot a qualification this weekend. It will be my second year to shoot Cowtown, bringing 2-3 extra guests as well.
