    Help Me Choose An Arrow

I'm shooting a 30" draw 73lb Elite Pure with 100gr heads. All research points to a 300 spine arrow. I've shot 66# with the Easton Axis Carbon N Fused 340's on my old bow and none of the bow shops in my area carry anything in a 300 spine.

So since I've changed my set up I come to the gs for help. I'm looking for or penetration and accuracy.

I'm a fan of muddy HT-1s. Same concept as a VAP, but a lot thicker, more weight, and the aluminum outsert isn't as prone to bending. They don't seem to be quite as brittle either. And you can shoot whatever broadhead you want, unlike the deep six injexion route.

Gt hunter Xt 7595 has done me right. Imma give the new mutiny slashers a try. I had really good luck with the regular mutinys by carbon express

You may actually be able to tune with a weaker spine.. I have the same specs as you and my Knightmare tuned with a carbon express 350.

You looking for heavy, light, high FOC, or anything in particular?
I just set mine up so I have had a few options worked up before I decided.

Most were the newer small diameter arrows from victory, black eagle, and carbon express..Went with the carbon express pile driver complete pass thru at 10.32 gpi

I was looking at something over 10gpi. The Easton 340's shot like the *** end of hard times out of this rig. I went with the .300's and tuned it with them. I bought them on a turkey hunt in Lampassas. That's a pretty good haul for me to just go get arrows lol. Probably gonna order some, but I'm not finding them anywhere online... I'm about to shoot you a PM too by the way on an unrelated topic.

Im in the same boat been shooting carbon express blue streak maximas 350 out of my dna my deal was every arrow i sent through an animal was toast afterwards.. So now im looking to one thats more durable, leaning twards the gold tip velocity at this point

I'm not too concerned about that, when I shoot one at an animal, that usually ends its career. My deal is with the 340's every arrow hits the target at a different angle, I'm getting horrible arrow flight.

so there is an inconsistant flight pattern with the gt velocities 340???

I second the the Muddy HT-1's. I have them in a 350 spine and the Axis 340's and much prefer the HT-1's. If you go with the muddy's and use the aluminum outsert, just remember to add 3/4 of in to your cut length to account for extra length of the outsert.

If you bow is tuned and field points are shooting good, but when you put broadheads on the arrow is horrible then that is usually a week arrow. I would defiantly look at the 300 spine. I'm playing with gold tip kinetic right now, but there inserts suck. I think easton hidden insets will work, but have not tried yet.

I haven't tried this a lot yet but take a fletched arrow and a un fletched arrow and shoot it. If impact are together then look at angle of arrow. Knock to the left week if knock to the right stiff. If bare shaft is not with the fletched arrow then there is a form or tuning problem

Go to archery talk and look up nuts and bolts. Print off his booklet. Everything you want to know about bows is there

Although they arent over 10gpi, i just bought the easton da torch 330s. Very similar to the hex. They shoot great out of my Element. 375grn total weight.

i shot 300 spine gt velocity xts previously and they shot great. at 27.5' came to 385 grain but were very brittle. Broke very easy.
