Here is another example of archer's paradox. This is what it suppose to look like if your arrow is perfectly spined. If you are shooting a bow with a shelf, then you won't have as much bend, but on my shelfless selfbow it takes a lot to get around the riser and not affect the arrow flight. That is why it is so very important to tune your arrows for the right spine.

I've seen this before and it makes me cringe when I shoot. I've only had one arrow break when shooting (a woodie) and it wasn't pretty. Luckily I did not get any of the arrow in me but did have the string slap my arm from the top of the bicep down to the forearm. Left an 8" bruise and stung like crazy.
