    Virgin!!!

Thanks to LoneStarHunter, I am now the proud owner of a Bowtech Diamond Razors Edge!!!!

I don't know poop from pillow about a bow. I am hoping that some of the local Ellis County folks can give me a "how to" class. I am going to take it to Alvarado Archery in a few weeks to get fitted and everything checked out. I do have a couple of questions though.

    1. What are some of the common mistakes a bow virgin makes??

    2. What is the best piece of advice that you could give me??

    3. What is the #1 "dang, Wish I would have known that" moment??

    #2
    1. Improper draw length leading to several horrible shooting habits that are very difficult to get rid of.

    2. Don't get over anxious, or easily frustrated. There are not many things in the world anyone was ever good at the first time they did it. This includes archery. So enjoy the positive steps you take, but don't get too consumed by them. And if it is a not so great day, doled it drag you down too much either.

    3. Shoulda aimed a little lower when shooting from my tree stand!!

      1. don't dry fire. #1 rule in the archery bible i call it

      2. when shooting the bow dont have a death grip, you will cause the bow to torch which then makes your arrow not go where you want it to go.

      3. take your time on the shot, dont "speedy gonzales it"

      4. squeeze the trigger, dont slap the trigger.

      5. relax when shooting, this is my favorite sport when im worked- up causes it helps me relax.

        X2.

Always flex test your arrows. One bad arrow could cost a lot of money and pain.

          Congrats!! Welcome to the obsession.

Alvarado will help you! He helps me!

X2 on don't grip your bow & flexing your arrows and tightening your broadhead or field point.
          Don't lock your elbow.
Be sure to find a comfortable anchor spot.
Don't drop your bow after shooting to see where your arrow went. Let it follow thru.

Make sure you have the cash for it Another thing I'd say is wax your strings, if someone hasn't told you that.

Don't ever pull a bow back without an arrow nocked and a proper back stop, that also includes not using a release to draw it back unless you a specifically shooting fingers. Enjoy your new bow, this is a very addicting sport!
