    First Box Blind Build

This is my first box blind build with free materials I've collected over the years plus from a recent fence work. A waste material after project is never a waste.

Dimension is 8x6x7 7' tall at front side with 6.5' tall on the back side. I'm big dude at 6'2". I need to stand up! Not walk like a hunchback of Norte Dame! Lol

With 3/4 plywood glued on floor joists and fastened with two inch screws.

Since I didn't want the elements to ruin my CDX plywood because I won't be finished with the whole thing so I waterproof the whole thing for now. Which again was something I had laying around from old job.

Today, I will be putting on leg braces around the posts and try build one or two walls up, depending on if I have enough 2x4 to frame it.

I will be back in two weeks to bring in some more 2x4's to finish the walls. May have to buy 2x6 for ceiling rafters and 1x4's for metal roof slats before putting up metal roof. 2x6, 1x4, and metal roof may be the only thing I would have to spend on. Which I'm stoked about. I know I'm cheap! Lmao.

I knew that saving all these things were for a reason- actually to use for our future house but I will take this!

I know I probably will be teased about how I'm doing this as if I'm building a house! Lmao.

Since I wanted to last for a long time on our ranch which is why I built it this way! The only way- right way, only way I know how!

Looks good. Are you going to put a permanent ladder after its done?

Yeah. I haven't decided if go with that or an actual stringers stair. I may use ladder because that way I can take it away from the blind to prevent anyone to use when I'm not there. Still debating it.

Isn't it amazing how many tools we drag out for what we think is a simple little build. It seems I drag out everything I have. Looking good, getting me inspired.
