    Fawns are calling?

Went to Gander Mountain to browse around while killing time and just so happen to walk down the little clearance aisle of last years goodies. I noticed a buck grunter by flextone for $7 so I bought it. It has four settings as compared to my old one having one setting. I'm curious to know if anybody out there uses a fawn in distress call? I honestly hadn't ever heard of anyone using that before.

It works calling in yotes after the does have dropped

If that's all its good for then I have no use for it. Though the other three settings will be useful.

I have used it to bring in does to shoot. Some are very curious and some not so much.

I saw a video on TV of a Mexico hunt where they went out in a high rack truck with an electronic caller playing fawn in distress tones. The does would come running out on the senderos, followed by the bucks (must have been around the rut) and they would pop the bucks.

That's Mexico though.... All you have to do down there is show up.

Its deadly on does about opening weekend of bow season. It can get fast and furious real quick. And you never know when you may call in a predator also.

I have used it during early bow season and it works great! Ragin' is right it can get crazy fast. I have had over 10 doe run in from all directions. That is over achieving, lol. Then you can not move a muscle with out being spotted.

Works real good in the early season to bring does in. They hear it and when the fawns are still young they will come in to protect them, the does can can be very protective of their young (and other does young as well). From my experience it about 50% effective.
