    Easy Micarta Knife Handles

Here are some examples of some easy to make knife handles, of course this is for hidden tang knives.
I made all these handles using Fiberglass Resin and old various old clothes. The first one I used a black golf shirt and a little aluminum foil. The others are a mixture of various colors, some I can make look like camo buy using tan or light colors mixed with green.
I take an old shirt and cut into two in strips and as long as I can make them without any seams or buttons. I have an assortment of them in my knife shop. You buy some Fiberglass Resin and (instructions are included of how to mix) get the knife blade in a vice and completely coat each strip with resin and start wrapping, it doesn't have to be neat just tight, over lap each wrap and completely cover all the handle. When finished make sure you make it oversized you'll be sanding off the excess, I like to wrap the whole handle with electrical tape nice and tight. Let sit over night and let the fun begin. I buy the resin in gallon cans, I can do at least 25 knives with one gallon. If you'd like to mess with this and have question, please don't hesitate to pm me.

Great!! Really nice knives. Love to see ingenuity in action. A couple other things that work well with fiberglass resin are the lint from the dryer and the fuzz from a cottonwood tree. Haven't messed with it for years, but think I may have a pocket knife laying around somewhere with cottonwood fuzz handles I can take a picture of.
