    Aoudad rocksprings tx

We recently purchased a WMA ranch in Edwards County, we supposedly have a ton of aoudad, yet I havnt seen one. I know they are elusive, but does anyone have any recomedations on how I could get one in my sights?

We have 2 feeders and they are beat up, so I know there coming there. I just always seem to miss them, our terrain is very diverse, lots of rocky hills and deep draws. Ive tried glassing but still nothing. What terrain We havnt had our protein going in since opening day, and are about to kick it back up for the off season. But last year nothing with the protein. Ive seen Oryx and Elk, but no Aoudad?

Scout! I agree about the protein, but they are really uncanny animals.

ours show up right at dark, only hit the protein for about 1 hour then vanish. Haven't seen them since August though. They like it higher up on the hills...

Hunt in the same area and they are hard to find. Glass the highest points such as mountains and cliffsides

                  Alfalfa works as well.

Alf Alfa does work well but the elk will probably get to it first. My step dads friend put a feeder in a small pasture between two big rocky hills and they would beat the deer to the feeder.

I've hunted the ones at our ranch for almost 3 years and finally in December i was able to harvest 2 gold medal rams in 1 one afternoon after putting some buckcandy out where they'd been hanging out in. But it's all about being there in the right place at the right time too.

Saw a pic of the back half of one on a game cam. Thought for sure it was a lion!

Salt, minerals, feed & water at my spot & they always show up on camera a day after I leave. A buddy of mine shot one finally this year after several years of trying . 28 yd Texas heart shot...went about 30 yds .

Thanks for all of the great insight guys, I will definitely try the buck candy. I just recently set some cams up this past weekend. Hopefully here in a few weeks when I go back I will see one. I here from neighbors that our property is aparently loaded with them, (coming from the previous owner talking to the neighbors), Im always riding fourwheelers to about 100 yds from my stand. I think this time Im going to scentlock up and creep over there in the dark before dawn. We will have our protein going next time I go and I will by a bail of alfalfa. WISH ME LUCK!!! Ill post picks if I nail one.
