    Will this deer live?

I need some advice on what the green screen would do with this deer. I know he does not have the widest spread but I like the G5's so I would like this deer to live another year for genetic purposes. The tumor on this buck started in September as a little bump and has grown to be the size of a softball. Will this buck be able to breed this year or even live? Thanks for the advice.

just depends on what type of tumor that is and what-not...

those are some crazy nice pics though. that second one almost looks fake. good luck with that one man; I'd put him down

hard to know what the tumor will do, but if he's doing good right now, I would think he would live....now it may affect his antler growth next year if his body is having to spend energy to survive vs growing horns.

He looks like a 3.5-4.5 yo deer so I would probably go ahead and take him it was me.

I don't think it is a tumor. I have a buck hanging around one of my stands with a very similar bulge. I sent a pic to our biologist and he showed it to a vet for a second opinion. Both felt like it is a hernia and both told me the deer would most likely not survive.

If it is a hernia, I don't see how he could mount a doe. Regarless, I hope he doesn't have to cross any fences like that.

            Take him.

I haven't seen this deer live yet so I am not sure if he is favoring it, the pictures look like he is always hunched over..

Thanks for sharing the pic CD. Both bulges looks very similar. Makes me nervous because it keeps getting bigger.

Very sadd but I think I would make that decision after laying eyes on him......may be best to put him down if he looks like he is suffering...

If it is a tumor and you can see it noticeably growing in a sequence of pics, then I'd bet he won't survive it. If it is a hernia and you notice it growing, it's because more and more of his "innards" are slipping through the tear in his abdominal muscles. Should his intestines get twisted and blocked, he isn't gonna survive it either.

If this is a hernia I would put him down to be humane to the animal.
