    Gettin out... for a while

Well. sadly i'm going to drop out of the archery seen for a while. my shoulder has been getting worse and with the new baby, i just don't have the time. I posted some trad gear over in the classifieds and will be posting some more to put together some money for my photography hobby. i won't link to it due to the rules but just wanted to say good by for now to all you fine folks! I will no doubt see you down the road in a few years.

    Take care and shoot straight!

New babies do take a lot of time for sure. Sorry that your shoulder is giving you fits.
I have one giving me trouble as well but it happens to be the one that does not affect my shooting. Hopefully in the future you will find relief for your shoulder and time as the baby gets older. Photography is something i loved back in HS and would love to find time for that as well.

Life's paths take us down many forks in the road. I wish you all the best as you head down this new path and hope one day it will lead you back to us.

Sometimes the right choice does not seam like it is the right one at the time. This is not one of those times! The choice of the little ones being first is the right choice. Congratulations on the new little one and putting them first. The photography will help you remember things down the road about what they did and how they looked. I hope your shoulder gets better quick and you find the time to return to this great way of life. One of the things I have done with my son since he was born(17 months ago) is put him in his stroller and when I shoot in the yard he is with me. When I grab my bow now he runs to his stroller and climbs in. My daughter is always with me as well when I shoot. She has a small bow that she shoots when I shoot. Involve them in everything you do and you get to do more things.

I can't not speak about the shoulder problems, as I lucky don't have them. But I can speak about the kid "problem" I have 3 and I did not have time or money to to shoot like I wanted with the young ones. So over the years I ended up selling all of my bow, and for a year to year and 1/2 was without a bow. I regretted selling that bow the whole time. It was not till 1 1/2 later that with some very generous horse trading (them taking a lot less for the bow), and very generous people that I was able to "afford" a bow and arrows that matched it, again. Now my son who is 5 almost 6, we shoot together in the backyard almost ever night. Once season is over (since I don't have a place to hunt) I am looking forward to shooting 3D with some of the people that I have meet (Derek and others). I just wanted to tell you my story, but if your interests/shoulder are taking you a different direction cool, but if you still love shooting, and it is just the time aspect, it does get better, and you could have a shooting partner too.

Best of luck and congrats on the little one. FYI... I tried to leave archery as well but once you have the passion it is hard to let it go especially when you are surrounded with outstanding folks as in the trad community.

I hope photography works out for you. When its time to teach the new baby how to hunt you can get some great photos. Something I wish I had from when I was growing up.
