    No rubs?

Went to the ranch this weekend to fill feeders, work on the ground blinds and the rifle blind some, move a quadpod, and just take a quick look around.
Now normally by this time I have little ceders torn to pieces and some dandy rubs on some larger trees, but I only saw 2 trees that had any kind of rub going on.
I have pictures dated 9-3 with bucks still in groups and a couple of pretty good ones (havent seen my big guy I let walk last year though).
I have a feeling they may be pushed back some this year with the weather being so hot and lack of rain late in Aug.
Anyone been seeing lots of rubs and groups seperating yet?

Personally, I haven't found a single rub yet. Also, my bucks still seem to be travelling in groups. I found it strange that I haven't seen any rubs yet, especially considering that I have a young eight walking around with absolutely no velvet left. However, part of the reason I haven't seen any sign is because I stay out of the woods as much as possible to avoid disturbing the bucks coming to my feeder regularly.

Could be a late start, could be weather but I've also found that lack of rubs and scrapes can also be attributed to having too high a doe to buck ratio in the area.

I'm up in NE IL/SE WI and noticing the same things. Bucks are still in groups, very little rubbing activity, and I'm still getting pictures of deer in full velvet. And season starts Saturday!

O we have too many does, for sure!!!
We had 7 extra doe tags last year and other than the 2 I used off them not a single one was used by the other guys.
Ive been thinking of having a doe weekend and inviting 4 or 5 guys to knock some out>
Does first for me this year.

All my bucks are still in velvet as of Saturday and in the same groups. Wouldn't be surprised if most are out by this weekend.
