Well my wife has decided to take up bowhunting. This was of her own accord, so we are in the process of getting her set up. She is picking up her bow tomorrow. Mission craze with a 26.5 draw length. She is comfortable @ 35lbs but I'm trying to convince her to up to atleast 40lbs. What do you guys think? Can you get enough penetration with 35lbs @ 26.5 draw? Anyway it will be nice to hunt with the wife this season.

I don't claim to be an expert but I would say with that set up, 35 lbs should be enough to take a white tail up to 30 yards with proper shot placement and a good sharp cut on contact broadhead. Although, 40 lbs and the closer the better. This is just my opinion.Last edited by J. Colwell; 07-17-2012, 09:05 PM.

My kid shoots about the same specs. Had a pass through on a 168# hog and killed a black buck Drt. Both shots st 20yds. She has also killed a couple smaller pigs. I will let her shoot a deer given the chance
With a cut on contact Magnus. I was going to letter her take a zebra if we could have gotten a 15yd shot.
