any place to go stump shooting north of Ft worth?

    Hi all,

I'm just wondering if there is any place around Bedford where I can bring my kids stump shooting?

Anything in arlington or lake grapevine area?

    Thanks

I haven't been there myself but CCR is up around Cabelas, north of Ft. Worth and I think they have a couple of ranges.

Stump shooting and shooting at a range is not quite the same thing, anyways I don't know most Army Corp. lake's don't allow. You may have to find some one to let you shoot on the back fourty CCR isn't a real cheap place to shoot with a bunch.

Cowtown Bowmen just west of White Settlement. Target range to warm up on and plenty of woods to walk around stump shooting.

I may be a little slow but why would you shoot at stumps?

Stump shooting is what a lot of people do for hunting/fun practice. Generally use a blunt point. Then walk the woods pickimg out stumps, a patch pf grass, a leaf, anything really. Varied distances amd terrain. Just pick your target take one shot, then retrieve your arrow and keep going shooting at whatever catcjes your eye.

                          Hey Trap-Daddy.

Why would you shoot at a piece of paper at a known distance?

Like BK and ALLAround said, Stump shooting allows one to build their distance judging, as well go for a stroll with the kids and see nature. It also build their confidence. Might even be an excuse to go scouting.
