Have any of ya'll that have been lucky enough to win the deer lotto,ever had success at Grapevine.I did a little scouting today,definately saw sign,but was just wondering about the success rates.I have hunted public land since my youth,and def understand that you get out of it,what you put into it.

i just got my kids archery permits for grapevine. i picked up the general hunting too. also got the lottery numbers for deer archery draw.
iv fished the vine for years. i did speak with warden about were hes seen the hogs roaming this time of year. what hes reported seeing the big deer.
does anyone wanta team together or scout this place out. pm meComment

BTW - No need to scout until you have a permit, unless you are looking for pigs. Not worth walking around this time of year and getting bite by a snake.Comment

Last year 250 permits , 11 deer killed for the season total. That a 4.4% effectiveness. I think 6 bucks, 5 does. I killed one of each, and it was not being lucky. You gotta be persistent, and know what the deer do.Comment

Ok,so whats the deal with parking?If 250 permits are handed out,I just cant see that many parking spaces available.Anybody know if parking in the gravel lot at 377 and Bobcat is legal?(right beside the gate)Comment
