    Finger protection?

I normally shoot bare fingered, but now that I'm shooting Sarrels Bobbcatt at 53lbs., it starts to hurt a bit after 15-20 shots. I think I like a glove style best, but really I just want some recommendations on something that will aid my shooting and not hinder it. I'm even open to a thumb ring.

By the way, this Bobbcatt is the best handling and shooting bow that I've personally shot to date. Very glad I made the decision to relieve my friend of such a nice shooting stick.

    I prefer a glove over a tab

It is a matter of preference. There are myriad options for both gloves and tabs. I've tried a couple different gloves and I didn't care for them. I've tried a few tabs and the one I prefer is this: http://www.3riversarchery.com/3-fing..._baseitem.html I believe it is a Bateman. This one is worth a look also: http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=0801X It is super slick.

I prefer a tab. I like the Alaska Bowhunting Supply cordovan, and I recently
got Fred Eichler signature tab from 3 rivers that I like. It is also cordovan.

The Saunders Pak Tab is also a good tab made out of some kind of slick
plastic and is just about indestructable.

The best thing about a tab is that it frees up your hand for other stuff, like
pulling arras or writing on a score card, etc.

Best glove I have found after almost 40 years is the Black Widow - Slick Tite Glove or the super for better protection and smoother release. these gloves unlike any others on the market actually tighten on your fingers after the shot. Priced right as well - compared to many others.

I've tried a LOT of gloves and the best ones I've found are the Black Widow Stik Tite and the EW Bateman single layer cordovan glove. I actually like the Bateman a lot better but they're both great gloves. I also ordered one of the 3Rivers Dura Gloves but haven't recieved it yet.

It's a lil thinner than the rest but I have been using the Damascus glove from 3 rivers and I really like them

The Saunders Pak Tab is slick, my shooting or should I say consistency has improved since I made the switch to a tab.

I started with a glove, but soon changed to a tab. I like the Saunders Pak Tab too.

I was shooting the Dura glove for a while and really like it. I tried the Super Glove with my 70# longbow and found the glove I needed for the heavy weight. My release is really clean now as the finger tips are a super smooth and super stiff leather. It takes about a week or two of shooting to break it in. Once broke in it is like nothing else. I have an extra large Dura Glove you can try if you would like. If you want send me your address and I will mail it to you. kinda like a free trial.... the trial period will only be good for 325,987 days. After that you have to pay $1.00. Let me know if you would like to try the glove.

Yeah, the Dura glove is enough protection but not too much.

I'm certainly no expert, but i have tried several gloves and tabs and ended up deciding that a tab was the most consistent Check out the tabs at Eagle Flight Archery. The best I have found.
