    hunting quivers

Since I have my first trad hunt coming up in three weeks, I need a good quiver to take with me. What do yall recommend? I was leaning toward a back quiver. The hip quiver seems like it would be too noisy. Also, wasn't sure how the bow mounted quiver would work.

Anyone have back or bow mounted they would like to get rid of or maybe trade for?

For hunting i go with a great northern strap on. I made a back quiver too, but tend to use the bow quiver due to how many thickets we have around here.

I've had good luck with the Great Northern quivers also.

Great Northern strap on for one piece bow and Great Northern Quick Detach for a takedown bow. That is the only quiver I use nowadays!

I hate a quiver on my bow so I use a Cat Quiver for hunting.. although I have a couple of the more traditional leather back quivers the Cat Quiver offers better protection for the fletchings and is quick to extract an arrow from..

Hip quiver for me most of the time. Then there is the one in my avatar.

Great Northern or Mini Boa for me. Use my back quivers mostly for arrow storage.

Would it be too much trouble to get a close up pic of the Great Northern quivers on your bow setups? I'm guessing they will work with the Sage?

This is the only picture that I have And yes it should work on any bow.

I like the Anneewakee strap-on, Angle Quiver. http://www.kanatiquiver.com/index.html

I think it depends on the bow. I have a very light 4 arrow EFA on my Kanati longbow and a slide on 4 arrow Selway on my recurve. For me if the quiver is too heavy it throws off the balance of the bow. I also only shoot my 4 arrow quivers with 3 arrows in them while practicing just like it would be if I were hunting and taking my first shot.

I like the one piece removable quiver for stand hunting. I never leave a quiver attached while hunting ground or tree stands. The Great Northern fits the bill all day long. I just got the BOA and I really like it also, but the one piece will hang from tree stand or can be laid on the ground in a ground blind. The one piece is easily removed and very quiet while doing so.

When I first started bowhunting I had the quiver attached to the bow and the feathers rubbed my leg when I was coming to full draw and it cost me a nice buck. From that time on there has been no more quivers attached to the bow or feathers on my arrows until the last couple years, when I went to traditional.

Here's one I redesigned/modified and works as a back quiver and also a side quiver that hugs the side.

Plus it has a large top cover to protect and keep the fletch from getting damaged, there is a elastic draw under the cover to keep the arrows from rattling around.

Or add the other strap and make it a full back quiver 3 in 1 !!

I'll never go back to a bow mounted quiver.

That is a good looking idea.
