Oh no! Helicopter shot down in South Carolina!

It seems an animal rights organization in S. Carolina decided to fly a remote drone helicopter over a live pigeon shoot to document the cruelty of people shooting those poor creatures for sport. Did not end well for the aircraft.

Small motorized vehicles? There called four wheelers. I would get one of those big sling shots that stick in the ground and shoot all the dead pigeons towards the shark folks. That my friends would be winning

Respectfully disagree. Thats just the kind of thing that they can use against us. I like the sling shot idea, but rocks will work better for ammo. Or maters. Or Lindberger cheese.

So, this is what I'm getting out of reading this. This Hindi guy flew his chopper in the air, and told the police he heard a single, small caliber round come from the tree line. His chopper lost lift, and crashed. About $300 in damage. Sounds to me like somebody was pretty ticked off, a darn good shot with a .22, and did what 99% of us would love to do. He did break the law, but I'd still like to shake his hand.

The next day, in a news release, where the MEDIA is paying attention, the story changes slightly. Now he says seconds after it took off into the air, several shots rang out from all directions, the shooters hidden in tree cover, the chopper crashed into the road, and the shooters took off on four wheelers, obviously oblivious to the safety of others. To me, that sound like a bunch of hillbillies with guns, taking the law into their own hands, feeding the anti-gun media blitz.

It's crazy how much a story can change in a day, if it suits your needs.

No, we didn't do it. The Weaver hillbillies were right here at home.

I worked live pigeon shoots in Fort Worth for 13 years. At times they were illegal but most of the time it was legal . Humane Society used to try and get in to protest occasionally. We would go through 1500-2500 birds in a weekend. 10-15 weeks during spring and summer. At the Dallas Gun Club we could go through 3000-5000 in a 3 day weekend at a big shoot. Those things are like rats, hogs or fireants, you can't kill them fast enough to slow their population. I personally HATE pigeons with more than a passion. If any one of those activist would come to the barn and help cacth 1000 1 time , They would hate them too. To this day I want to shoot every stinking one that I see. They had people trapping all over the metroplex and they were still everywhere. Open the trap door on the barn and all the ones that got away would come back that night and we send them in for round 2. Dumb birds!!!!!

Those were not "small caliber guns" being fired in the video! They were large bore rifles and you could plainly hear the shots hitting a target (dirt bank?)
There was no sign of a hit on the helicopter. I used to fly R/C helicopters and a hit from a large caliber rifle would knock it out of the air immediately!
                    Pure BS for the media!

I find that hilarious. But personally I don't think anybody shot it because it really never broke over the tree line.

Someone tries to film me on my own property for their personal gain I'm going to do what ever it takes to stop them, even shoot the helicopter operator. In todays times you just never know what these whackos are willing to do until its to late.
