    Shooting After Corpal Tunnel Surgery

Has anyone here had corpal tunnel surgery on their strong hand ??? I wondering how long I would have to wait before I could pull my 63 lb Great plains Rio Bravo longbow. I had the surgery jan 12 th . It was the Brown type they talk about on tv...I been useing a chain saw, weed eater, and grubbing hoe but like today right hand and wrist is hurting........Andy

Better ask your Doc but I'd say start back with a lighter bow, but I have never had hand surgery.Heck I'm a stout old boy but 63 is a big bow, you killing water buffalo or what?

I've had it in the strong hand...twice. If my hand stayed straight to my wrist, like it should, there wasn't any problems. I could shoot my bow before I could do any heavy lifting and my bow is 63# as well.

I agree with "ask the doc"...
after knee replacement he told me "if it hurts don't do it"
but the therapist says it's got a hurt to get well...

I broke my wrist in a fall few years ago, had surgery on it, plate installed. I started with a very light bow, then finally just gritted my teeth, used my #50er and after a few days it stopped hurting. I think it helped.
