    Cowboy boot backquiver

My 5 year old kids have been hounding me about getting them some arrows of their own, and some back quivers for a while now. I cut up some dowel rods, stained them, got them crowned and crested, and then I headed to Goodwill to see if they had anything I could butcher up, and possibly turn into a back quiver. So I look through their leather stuff, and they want way too much for that stuff for what I plan on doing to it. So I look over and see a great old pair of Lucchese's. I say's to myself, "Those are almost a quiver already!" I grabbed a few purses for the straps, and $10 and about two hours later I've got two great back quivers finished. Here's one, I've added some shaggy fur to the inside, a concho, and some feathers to the outside since this pic was taken. I tied the pull tabs together, it sucked the boot down on the arrows real good, and made a great divider too.

Great idea. Pop(grandfather) used to tell stories of during the Depression. He said they never had tops on there boots. They used them for everything, even cut laces out of them and braided halters. I have an old pair of stovepipe Tony Llamas that would make a great hip quiver, may have to try it. Thanks for the idea.
