ask around. not sure about houston but i always buy from acorn steel in beaumont. they buy alot of construction scrap and resale. i always come out cheaper just buying pieces at scrap weight prices. always seem to have what i need.

SSS steel on Jenson. They have about anything. Also a surplus yard.

Been buying there for over 6 years.

I usually use Mueller. But their closest location to you is probably Rosenburg.

Mueller is good for square stock and purlin material.

Not so much for round tube or DOM.

They pretty often beat out the other folks I check in with when I have a project idea.

I use Mueller in Willis or triple S. Mueller is easier, in and out fast, but triple S has more to choose from and a scrap yard.

I like Triple S if I am buying a decent quantity. For the onesy-twosy items I go to Brookshire Steel in Brookshire to avoid spending half a day dragging a trailer all the way across Houston.
