HALO range finder....

Bought one today for $100 at academy, told the guy there I wasn't expecting much out of it as long as It works the rest of this season I'd be happy. It does not come with batteries so I went and got 2 for $10 a piece that way I'd have an extra when I needed it. Put the battery in turned it on went to range something and wah lah ...... nothing! it shut off! Took the battery out put it back on and same scenario so I thought battery might be dead. Changed battery and got the same thing again. Needless to say I'm not happy with the wild game range finder and I shoulda knew better but I figured I woulda got at least a couple of moths out of it not 30 seconds and no range! Anyways I'm sure not all of them are junk but issues with one is enough for me when I spend that much money so I'll be taking it back tonight.

Bought Momma D one last year. Haven't had a problem with it yet.

For $100 I didn't expect to much. Just something for her to have IF she wanted to hunt alone. Since she got comfortable enough to sit alone, I will be buying her a better one this year.

I bought one for the same reason and at first it would turn off but now it works just fine. It's got a warranty if it quits I'll send it back.

I read somewhere they have issues with the battery cover not being tight enough maybe put a "shim" under it so it'll hold the battey tighter.

I've got one of those. I hate it. Every time I need it the battery is dead. Last season I went through 4 batteries.

My dad has used one for the last 2 years, same battery. I'd take it over any Bushnell that I've ever used.

I bought one if these this year cuz I needed one and its all I could afford but I havnt had any problems out of it yet between hunting and practicing it has worked flawlessly so far was kinda disappointed it didn't come with a battery though I wanted to play with it in the parking lot

I have a halo that works fine but it does not compare to my bushel elite or the Bushnell legend (I think that's the name) my buddy was using in w Texas last week. I would probably save my pennies and by a nikon or another elite before I bought another halo.

Yea im saving pennies now and taking a trip back to academy tomorrow to get my money back or somethin we'll see but i know it wont be for another halo!

i have had one for going on 2 seasons mine works great but my buddy bought one like 3 days ago and he describe the same thing about his so maybe it was a defect from the factory

well now that im a little calmer about it and with the mixed reviews of greatness to crappy im starting to think maybe ill just swap it out with another one, like i said i only wanted it to last this season so maybe ill give it another shot, heck it wont cost me anything since the money is already spent

Take your batteries into academy and find one that works. Go thru them all if you need too. Maybe a bad batch or something of that sorts
