    DVD File Conversion

I just converted a DVD into a .wmv file. When I played the DVD the focus is vey sharp but the converted file isn't. Anyone know why this happened? I looks like it's a compression problem but this is just a guess. I used Prism Video Converter software to convert it. Any comments would be appreciated.

Yes. It converted the DVD into a .wmv that I watched on Windows Media Player.

I've spent the last several months ripping all of our DVD's to .MP4 format using Handbrake.

We got a Boxee for Christmas, and I've been putting the movies all on a hard drive so we can put the discs in storage (we were overwhelmed with discs).

So far, it's worked out awesome.

I used DVD43 as a decrypter as well on my PC (no Mac version available yet)

Added bonus, is that the MP4 format is Apple native, so it's easy to drag and drop onto the iPod or iPad for the kiddo on trips and stuff.

Both Handbrake and DVD43 are freeware.
