TFAA 600 Round at Texins Archery Club June 18 and 19

Texins Archery Club will be hosting a TFAA 600 Round Tournament, part of TFAA’s SYWAT (Shoot Your Way Across Texas) Series, on June 18 and 19, 2011. This shoot consists of a total of 60 arrows shot at distances of 40, 50, and 60 yards at 92cm (~36 inch) diameter, 4-color FITA Targets. For cubs (ages 11 and under), targets will be set at distances of 10, 20, and 30 yards; for youth (ages 12-14), distances will be 20, 30, and 40 yards. You may shoot either day – line times are 9:00am and 1:00pm. Reserve a line time by contacting Bob Barnette at rgbarnette@yahoo.com. Cost is $20, with a family maximum of $60. For info on TFAA, visit www.texasfieldarchery.org. For info on Texins Archery Club visit www.dallasarchery.com.

We have all been having lots of fun with 3-D this year, but if you want to try an event that is pure target-shooting, come give this a try!

NOTES: The 600 Round will be conducted on our Long Distance Range. Registration and warm-up shooting begins at 8am each day. Follow the red signs for guidance to the parking area, and then to the range. In general, you go the “Shotgun Sports” side of the Elm Fork property, and drive past the clubhouse/pro shop buildings to the paved parking lot behind them. If you park as far away from the buildings as possible, you will be closest to the archery area. Soft drinks and snacks will be available at the range area.

Texins had 14 shooters for today, 11 this morning and 3 brave souls for the afternoon line. We all had a good time and thanks to Bob Barnette who made sure the shooters had plenty to drink and snack on.

One tip, if you are going out to shoot tomorrow, bring sun block, a hat and maybe an EZ up if you can spare one to set up and let the shooters shoot under it. It doesn't help with the temperature, but it helps block out the sun.

Thanks and again Bob and Texins Archery Club.

We had 6 more shooters on Sunday, making 20 for the weekend. Not a huge crowd, but we all had fun - thanks to all that came out to shoot!
