    camera ?'s

I have a Nikon D50 that I am thinking about selling for the following reasons, I do not use it enough and most of the shots I do not mess with the settings at all and I would like a camera I can take hunting with me without the noise from the shutter. My question is do the extended zoom point and shoot make this noise. Those cameras sound good to me with the zoom and hd movie, might just be the ticket to throw into my backback and head to the woods. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

There are a lot of factors with iso grain. I wouldn't guarantee that buying a compact camera will get rid of the grain. It all depends on the light you are working with.
If you take a picture in a dimly lit area you are going to have an issue with grain.

There are a lot of new compact cameras that will work wonders, especially if you are going with the "point and shoot" mentality.

My advice? Look for a compact camera with the largest opening in the lens. It will help you get more light when you are hunting.

But to answer your questions, yes, the extended zoom camera will have some noise if you are in a badly lit area. Point and shoots rely a lot on their flash.
