Question: Flemish Twist or Continuous loop on the longbow?

I’ve made my own strings for many years and have the necessary jigs and the skills to make both the Flemish Twist and the Continuous Loop strings, so my question is which do you prefer on the longbow?

I think the Flemish Twist is a bit more traditional but the Continuous Loop is a bit stronger so I’m torn between the two choices.

I prefer flemish, but it's just because of the look.

The endless loops will work on any bow, and most of the time an endless will produce a tad better performance than a flemish if the fit is right for the bow.

I'm with Rick on this one. I like the look of the flemish enough to sacrifice a small bit of performance.

You need between 6 and 10 starnd string on a longbow for performance and less handshock/noise. I don't know how an endless would be on a string that small. If you have not tried a skinny string on a longbow then I suggest you do, along with a chrono so you can see the improvement. I gained 8fps by going to a 10 str. over a 15 str. and considerably less noise .

You would probably need to pad the loops as well as the center serving to make it work.. but that's easily doable.
