Went to a friends to hunt this past weekend that is always covered up with does. He said i could come shoot 2 of them this year. I sat 3 times and never got a doe to come in to the feeder. Last night i decided to sit in a ladder stand i have next to the house where i hand corn. I have been seeing about 8-10 does and yearlings coming to eat right b4 dark the last week or so. i wasn't able to get in the stand till 6:40 after work and at 7:10 i had 5 does and 3 little ones come in. One of the does was very large and kept running everything else off. I didn't think i was ever going to be able to draw on her because of all of the eyes and my lack of cover. I finally was able to draw when she was running off one of the little ones. She walked right back into my shooting lane and stopped quartering away at 17 yards. I let the arrow tipped with a rage 3 blade fly and it hit right where i was aiming. She ran about 25 yards and piled up. When i was cleaning the deer i saw the perfect 3 blades had center punched the heart. i have a ldp that i can share but haven't figured out how to post pics. i could email it to someone to post. This is only my fourth bow kill and it is amazing to me how i shake after i hear that thwack. It is a good start to the season. Got some meat in the freezer and now i can start looking for some horns.
