Looking at going to Meredith for the first time. I'm used to hunting SE Texas and I'm sure styles are very different. I'm not looking for your honey hole but I only have 4 days to spend there, any suggestions on an area to start or good tactics to make the most of my trip? My topo should be in the mail soon.

I have seen some real nice mulies around devils canyon. you can get there by crossing the Canadian river on the Fritch side at Mullinaw crossing.
But the crossing is not open untill the second weekend of general season!
you can also get there from plum creek area but it is a long walk!!
Good luck!
I will be out there during opening of archery!

I live about 15 miles from the hunting area at Mererdith. There are both mujle deer and white tail here. Lots of good areas to hunt but it can get really crowded. Most people stay close to the roads so be sure and do some hiking. General rule is whitetails in the river bottom and the mulies will be back in the canyons, but you will see both in both areas. This is federal land so they have different rules than state. Be sure and check with the park service for rules and boundaries.
