Friday after work met up with my Brother and friend and brought the ol lady for a little hog hunting action. We had a large pregnant sow come within 50 yards of us but just as she was making a loop to the feeder a coyote came and chased after the coons at the feeder. I didnt get a shot at the hog or the yote and didnt see a single thing after the incident but my brother did. He hunted the blind I put up a few weeks ago and its already producing. Brother had a 50-60 lb boar walk out 10 min after he got set up. he said after 20 min of facing straight at him the said to hell with the angle and shot the dang thing in the neck and dropped it on the spot. He said the boar quit squeeling after a final love tap from the kabar. Buddy got tied up on business calls and didnt get to hunt much.
Sat & Sunday took the lady out for her 2nd wade ever. Im teaching her to fish with artificial lures, specifically topwater and she is really catching on. Saturday she got frustrated cause she only caught throwbacks and I was sticken em so we went in and went back out Sunday at 1 pm with Zero wind. She ended up catching her first keeper trout on top sunday and it was a solid 19-20" trout...she ended up with 6 keeper trout all on topwater and I was impressed. We easily had more than our limit of fish but teachin her to land a fish while im landing a fish aint easy. Then some knuckle heads not only come and potlick but the old man dives off the back of his boat to cool off 40 yards from us. we didnt catch much after that...all in all a fun weekend.
Pics are of her first trout, sunday stringer, brothers hog, and for those who said not to fix the stand and use a pop up here is the proof!
