    Bag Targets

I currently only have one of the cheap box targets from academy that I gave 8 bucks for. It stops arrows and I have even put a broad head or two into it but arrow removal can be extreme. I went to shoot at Smithfield and while sitting in on their moving target I was amazed how the arrows stopped abruptly but were incredibly easy to remove. It was the Morrell yellow jacket target.

Now my question is, how do the $25 Academy"game winner" targets compare to the Morrells for $45?

Going to pickup one was just curious what opinions folks had.

Last week, I just purchased my first compound bow setup....along with it a "Yellow Jacket" target from Triple Edge Archery in Dayton. The Yellow Jacket came highly recommended from others. It's easy to move around, and it's easy to remove them (arrows). Ive shot maybe 100 arrows @ it.

I paid $49.95 for the Yellow Jacket, and have noticed Academy advertises them for $42.95.

Not sure about the cheap ones but I have a yellow jacket and it is not too difficult to remove arrows from. Very nice target and has took some MAJOR abuse as i am new to bow hunting when i bought it. I've probalby shot it hundreds of times (or more...my math is not good) and it still has tons of life left.

I got one of those targets from academy and I like it. It does what it's suppose to do. Every now and then the filling will come out when I pull an arrow but i just stuff it back in. I shoot at from 10 yards to 20 yards and sometimes 30. Just recently I had to use a permanent marker to fill in the dots but it all good now.

Never messed with one of the yellow jacket targets so I don't know how to compare, but I did by one of the game winner targets from academy. I shoot it, arrow stops and I walk up and pull it out. Don't know how much better it can get for the price.

I was just amazed at how easy the Morrell targets were to remove arrows and after having the push my knee against the box to dig arrows out I thought for sure something has to change. I might have to go the cheap route with the Game Winner bag, I can always return it if it isn't getting it done.

the cheap target from academy works great if you fire field points but broadheads not so good they will tear it up faster and can be dificult to remove

I have used the one from academy for 5 years and have not had any problems. I have replaced the cover because the old one was shot up so bad. Replacement cover was under $10.00.

Been through lots of bag targets and the best I have found are the Yellow Jackets.

If you're going to shoot a lot, get the big Morrell for about $100. Then you can put a 5-spot NFAA indoor sheet on it, and you won't robin hood nearly so many arrows. My first one died after about 10k arrows, and I'm well into my second.

I bought two of these used at the ASA shoot here in Paris two years ago. They have taken many many arrows in them and still keep stopping arrows. Great bags, but they were 75% cheaper buying them used.
