    rebar as a fence post

anybody ever used rebar as a fence post? if so what size.... thanks

I put it in between the t posts on about 3 miles of barb wire fence. Drove them in the ground about 6-8inches and used galvanized tie wire. I was told it would rust the barb wire, Its been about 17yrs and no problems so far. I guess the rusting of the barb wire could be a factor in more humid enviroments. If so you could always precut them to length and have them galvanized. It works alot better than those dang twist stays!

I personally wouldnt use rebar as my T-posts but that is a good idea Muddydog using them as stays. I just dont think they will hold up as well as t-posts.

I've used miles of it for electric fence posts. 1/2" I believe. Never used it for barbed wire or anything besides hot wire.

5/8'' I like it heavy duty. Like previously said, I wouldnt use them in place of a Tpost. I dont see why !/2'' wouldnt work for a stay.
