I usually hunt the SW cornor and am thinking on hunting the Big Slough a bit for a change of pace..wheres some good camping in that area? BTW..no gun here...STICK N" Strings only

if you are leaving crockett on hwy 7 going toward lufkin there is a very nice camping area on the left hand side just after you go through kennard..
They have water,elecricity and hot showers...
it is called Ratcliff lake park.
That is where I allways camp.

I'ts a little way from the Big Slough but I always like camping at
Pond camp site.
When I did go there I hunted off the 4C trail about 1 mile.

seems no matter where you want to camp you always go a piece down the road to hunt, was that way in SW cornor. Off of the beaten path

I hunt about 5 miles from ratcliff park....
There is a hunters camp right next to where I hunt but my wife allways goes with me and she does not camp primative!!

moving to the big slough will be your best move. thats where all the big ones are :D

ended up going to another one of my spots instead. i wont be hunting the big slough until mid nov or dec now.
