    Patio Fire Pit

Just finished a fire pit for our back patio. Hoping to get alot of use out of it this year.

It was a fun project. I put a couple of
Layers of rocks and then sand to keep the heat reaching the concrete.

No chance you have some step by step pics is there? I'll be building one of these soon.

No I don't have step by step pictures. Posting the picture was kinda an afterthought. Next time I am at lowest I will send the pics of the size stones and the price. It is four rectangular stones by 3. I used a little bit of mortar to help make it a little more stable and kept it level going up. Then we decided to add the wider top cap stones so we could rest our feet on em. I then filled the bottom with five bags of egg stone. Then put five backs of pea gravel. Then four bags of play sand.

I used the larger stone at the bottom then the pea gravel then the sand to hopefully allow it to drain and not hold alot of moisture and get the fire closer to the top. And my rational for using the pea gravel in between the larger egg stone river rocks is that hopefully all the sand wont wash straight to the bottom with the first rain by creating smaller holes.

That being said I am not an engineer or anything so we will see what happens. But so far we like it. (when I can keep the fire going).
