What's the catch? Do you have to set up a subscription to the steak of the month club? For beef, it smells a little fishy! :)

Jump on it, at the very least it's cheap dogfood!!!! You can get some really good deals from Omaha Steaks and I have never gotten anything of bad quality from them.

I have always been happy with Omaha steaks, but something seems a little fishy with that price. Omaha steaks aren't cheap.

Do they say Omaha Steaks or "Steaks from Omaha"? I have seen those tents and they are always the later. But its only $20 bucks right.

Order your steaks from Stockyards.com and you'll feed your Omaha steaks to the dogs :D

I pay $15 per ribeye for mine. No way I would waist my money. The money you save will only eat your pockets on Pepto bismal

I heard that comercial all weekend while working. It's "steaks from Omaha" but that doesn't mean they can't be good. I'd sure like to know if anyone goes by there and what's the deal.

My wife got suckered into the "Omaha steak" thing. The ribeyes steaks were about 1/2" thick and cheap quality. I would not advise buying anything from them. She complained to the guy who sold them to her and he told her that I didn't know how to cook them. He claims to put them on the pit frozen and cook that way. I buy my ribeyes from a meat market called green acres and pay about 15-20 bucks a piece. 2" thick and some of the best marbling I have ever seen. I have cooked ribeyes for a long time and just don't trust them guys.

NICE!

I would be a little worried about the quality and source of the meat. Just wait until Kroger or HEB has a sale.

Same guy must have caught my wife and MIL back in the summer...... they bought nearly $400 worth of meat while I'm out of town on business. I was pretty steamed, even more so when I got home and saw the wafer then cuts of meat!

The worst part of the whole darn thing is that we HAVE A HEARD OF CATTLE and can slaughter our own when we want

Yeah mine did it when I was at the lease hunting. On the bright side of things, the salesman talked her into buying some preseasoned chicken breasts that are individually packed and boxed. They are pretty good and not bad on size. But back to the point.....don't buy from them mostly trash.

I got my $ back. Sent a letter citing state law regarding door to door sales. Recieved a check in person with the time frame of the law. That was actually pretty surprising.

I've been looking at that tent for two months.
I ain't buying that crud.

Let me ask you this. Why would they come from Omaha to the beef capital of the world if they were selling quality steaks..... and if they were quality, they wouldn't be $1.oo a piece.
Something to think about....
Do they have a USDA stamp on them?
If so, I could see people buying them.
If not, no way in hell.
No telling what you'll be eating. My bil haul cattle for a famous golden arched fast food chain...... let's just say, I don't eat there anymore! You'd be surprised what passes on USDA rules, and if they ain't got a stamp, that tells me all I need to know.

Pretty sure I'd stay away.

Had a door to door guy come one time. Promised my wife all this free stuff if she'd listen to his sales pitch. So she listens patiently then tells him no thank you, I'd have to talk to my husband. Then the guy won't give her the free stuff he promised because he said he couldn't give it to her if I wasn't there. ****** me off so much I would never buy from any of those guys just on the chance it is the same guy or the same company.

Had a pickup pull in the gate down at the barn about 2 years ago, with a freezer on the back. Wanted to sell me some steaks from who knows where.

Told them to look around and see what I eat, and if they didn't know, they were trespassing. Guess they saw the gun so they left.

Ain't eating nothing off the back of a truck or roadside stand.

Those guys came out to my place too, only about 6 months ago. I told them, "if I want it, I'll buy it at a store...I don't do business with door-to-door vendors." They do their selling in the county cause they don't have to have a vendor's permit like they do in the cities.

My wife bought some while they were in Amarillo. They make for some pretty good sandwiches.

My neighbor bought some and brought them over for a cookout. While they were very thin and not very big, I thought they were alright and thought they'd make great cheesesteak sandwiches.

JMO, I would stay away from that deal. You know how they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And horse meat doesn't taste much like beef.

We bought one of their packages at Xmas and no it wasn't cheap. Steaks, chicken, stuffed potatoes and dessert. Etc. Everything we ate was very good, but yes it was small portions (u know like the size a person should eat). Would buy again when they run specials. Came via ups nicely packaged in dry ice.

i buy whole ribeyes and price depends on price of cattle, but last one i picked up (last week) i paid $82 for and got 14 steaks out of it. (about 1 1/4" steaks) that is roughly 5-6 dollars a steak.

They're "Steaks from Omaha"... not Omaha Steaks... you won't find an Omaha branded steak for that cheap.... My MIL bought two cases... not real good at all... but take it what it's worth... road side marketing.

Well we finally tried the steaks, lots of grissel and the part that was meat was mushy. However they were seasoned to perfection so the flavor was not bad, if you can get past the texture issues. Will not buy in the future, waste of time and money.
