We I purchased my first Digital SLR last friday. They had a pretty good package deal at Best Buy so my wife went and got one for us. It came with a Canon Rebel T1i, bag and an extra 75-300mm zoom lens. With this zoom lens how close will deer need to be to get some real good photos of them? What is yalls opinion on this camera?

You'll need to be 50 yards or less to get really great shots. I have a T2i, and I love it. Yours is pretty similar I believe. Great cameras.

Here are some pic's taken with an XSI (a lesser camera than yours) and a similar lens (70-300) at about 30yds at 300mm Focal length...

15 and 18 megapixels are both very good quality. The difference should be negligible. Its crazy how far cameras have come in past few years

Right. Not a huge deal there. The 2 has 1080p HD video and the 1 is 720p. I have only taken 4 or 5 videos with mine. I really don't use that much. The 2's sensor is the brand new one that is slightly less noisy at high ISOs in low light, but from what I've seen of the 1, it isn't far behind at all. They're both way better at high ISOs than my old XTi was.
