Chris,

I wrapped up your tower yesterday. I was able to get it up in 15 minutes and down in 8 minutes! This thing is stout. I sprayed the runs on the ladder with 3M rubberized coating to make it non slip. The only tools needed to assemble are 7/16'' socket and wrench and a 4' ladder.

The base is 3/16'' 2x2 angle. All of the square tubing is 2'' that slide over the 1 3/4'' plugs.
The whole thing will easily fit in the bed of a truck.

Here are some pictures:

Here it is ready to go:

Good idea on the break-down concept, it will make moving it and setup much easier.

I did them at 10 deg. I think it is 3/16'' also. I found it at Eagle Steel in Dallas, Mueller only carries increments in 1/2''.

BIG IRON,

Very Nice. Do you Think the X bars are Necessary? Or are the Bottom braces enough? Love the Portability of it.

The braces made it very sturdy. They are just 1'' conduit with the ends flattened.

I built 4 towers similar to this and it sure makes moving leases or areas easy. I made boxes for the top that are panels and after I raise the platform I just screw the wooden panels to the angle on top of the platform and screw the walls togather. I can put it up or tear down by myself.
