A friend and I just got back from the McNutt ranch and I posted a hunting recap in the around the campfire. I just wanted to post in here that we had a great time, lots of animals, good accomodations, although on the 4th night I was tired of the bunkbed rail smacking me when I got up, and great people! If anyone has specific questions, feel free to email or pm me. I would rate this ranch a high 9 out of 10 (since it wasn't free) :D Shawn shot a watusi and mouflon ewe with his bow and I shot a water buffalo (rifle), mouflon ewe and this ram with my bow. The Guardian now has some blood on it.

Steve, was that water buffalo you shot one of the ones offered for $500? Also, what does that place get for watusi bulls? I've always wanted one with a huge spread.

Steve, all of us at the McNutt Ranch loved having you and Shaun. We can't wait for your return to hunt with us again. I still have a big red watusi with your name on it hahahaha. Let me know when ya ready for me to grill some tender loins for ya again. Better build a bigger cooler next time hahaha. Laters Kevin

It was $500. As far as I know, there are still 4 left. I just found out from Kevin that the group that came in after us took a watusi cow and a red deer cow. The Watusi bull was $950 and they are huge! Shawn measured his and it was 42 inch long horns and 40 inch spread. I can't remember now how big around the bases were. I really would have shot the red bull while I was there if we weren't bringing back the water buffalo and a watusi bull. The watusi bull has definitely jumped to the top of my "gotta get one of those" list. :D

I took a small party to the Macnutt ranch about 5yrs. ago. It was not run as good as it is now, but it was the best week of hunting I have ever had. I don't know why other then we think it is just the way the ranch is laid out and the people that run the ranch.

I e mailed them last night and got the ok to do a water buffalo cow hunt. I will be hunting with me bow so just wondering what kind of distances should I expect. Im not worried about shooting a little further distance. I beefed up my arrow weights and everything and Im getting about 73.6 pounds of energy out of them. Any advice for this hunt would be great.
