    vBulletin Forum Features

Be sure to surf around in the FAQ pages, as well as the vbCode info (at the bottom of each page) to familarize yourself with various posting options.

In the meantime, I'll try to point out some of my favorite features on this thread. Those of you experienced with vBulletin feel free to jump in and let us know how you typically use vBulletin.

"New Posts" and "Today's Posts" (Quick Links)

Much like the "Last Day" feature on the old sofware, the "Today's Posts" shows you all of the threads that have been posted in the last 24 hours. To access, click the "Quick Links" dropdown at the top of the forum, and then click on "Today's Posts". One difference in the way vBulletin handles this option over the way Discusware did is that the threads in vBulletin are not separated by Topics, as they were in Discus. I think this will prevent the Hunting Reports from being overlooked as they have been in the past.

Also note the "New Posts", which shows you only the posts that have been added since you last checked. I really like this option, and use it a bunch on other vBulletin forums that I have frequented in the past!

The calendar is a community wide calendar, not user specific.

If you'll notice on the October calendar I just added a reminder that the season is closed from Oct 30-Nov 3. If you click on the link for one of those days you'll see who posted it.

To add an event choose from the options at the bottom right corner of the page. Neat feature if you ask me.

Learning curve will be slow with hunting season and work, but a great challenge.

Sweet! You can set the WYSIWYG feature and see how you post will look as you type it!

                Good move Bossman!

Michael, I know you're just getting this started up, but a cool add on feature for vbulletin is called "vbookie". It allows the board operator to set lines on any event so folks can bet on them with imaginary money.

Might be something to consider for next football season.

Also, the added Private Message feature is real handy.

what's the format for imbedding a pic in your post?

Do it have to be hosted on another site and you hyperlink to it?

This computer illeterate Redneck still needs help with posting pictures.

It will have to be step-by-step for me to understand..

                        Thanks in advance

                          It's fixed...

You just click the paper clip and then select your pic from your computer, then Upload and close the window. Then click where in the message you want the picture and click the paper clip icon again and select which image you want to add at that point.

I have a feeling that the feature that may unfortunately get used a lot is the Ignore List in the User CP area...
